VANZAN^® Xanthan Gum is a high molecular weight water-soluble polysaccharide that is widely used as a rheology control agent for aqueous systems. It increases viscosity, helps to stabilize emulsions, and prevents the settling of solids in a wide variety of applications. VANZAN Xanthan Gum provides the same thickening, stabilizing and suspending properties during long-term storage at elevated temperature as it does at ambient conditions. In addition, it ensures excellent freeze/thaw stability. These properties are even better when used in combination with VEEGUM or VAN GEL Smectite Clays. A weight-to-weight ratio between 1:9 and 1:2 of VANZAN to VEEGUM or VAN GEL generally produces the most desirable results. VANZAN Xanthan Gum provides a combination of benefits unique among the rheology control additives used in water-based formulations.
