UV Absorbers
SONGWON Product Legend
![]() SONGSORB® 1000 PWA strong absorber of ultraviolet radiation in the 290-400nm region. It has a high degree of photostability. It offers ultraviolet light protection to a wide range of polymers, and can be used in combination with antioxidants and HALS to optimize performance in outdoor use. ![]() SONGSORB 2340 PWA strong absorber of ultraviolet radiation in the 300-400nm region. It has a high degree of photostability. It is particularly suitable for applications characterized by high surface area, such as films and fibers. It has a low volatility, which makes it especially suitable for applications involving high temperature processing. It can be used in combination with antioxidants and HALS to optimize performance in outdoor use. ![]() SONGSORB 3200 PWA strong absorber of ultraviolet radiation in the 300-400nm region, and it has a high degree of photostability. It is recommended for use at levels of 0.2 to 0.8% in styrenics, vinyls, polycarbonates, polyesters, and acrylics. It is also highly effective in stabilizing coatings such as urethanes and nitrocellulose, with a recommended use of level from 0.5 to 2.0%. To optimize performance in outdoor use, it can be used in combination with phenolic and phosphate antioxidants and HALS. ![]() SONGSORB 3260 PWA strong absorber of ultraviolet radiation in the 300 – 400nm region and has a high degree of photostability. It provides greater absorption of longer wavelengths than does SONGSORB 1000. It is less affected by alkalinity and metals, and has less effect on metal driers and metal catalysts due to its higher dissociation constant. It is recommended for use at levels of 0.2 - 1.0% in PP, PE, polybutylene, polyesters, and coatings. It can be used in combination with antioxidants and HALS to optimize performance in outdoor use. ![]() SONGSORB 3270 PW: A strong absorber of ultraviolet radiation in the 290-400nm region and has a high degree of photostability. It exhibits good initial color, low volatility, excellent stability to heat and light, superior wash fastness, and resistance to gas fading. It is particularly suitable for polypropylene and polyethylene as well as cold-cured polyesters, polyurethanes, dyes, and pigments. The low pKa and high hindrance of the phenolic group result in low sensitivity to metal-containing ingredients in polymer formulations. It can be used in combination with antioxidants and HALS to optimize performance in outdoor use. ![]() SONGSORB 3280 PWA strong absorber of ultraviolet radiation in the 290 – 400nm region. It features strong UV absorption, low initial color, good solubility in plasticizers and monomers, moderately low volatility, and excellent compatibility in a wide variety of substrates. It is recommended for use in polyolefins, styrene copolymers, ABS, acrylic polymers, unsaturated polyesters, thermoplastic urethanes, moisture cured polyurethanes, polyacetals, polyvinylbutyral, and thermosetting acrylic enamels. It can be used in combination with antioxidants and HALS to optimize performance in outdoor use. ![]() SONGSORB 3290 PWA strong absorber of ultraviolet radiation in the 300 – 400nm region and has a high degree of photostability. It protects polymers from UV radiation, helping to preserve the original appearance and physical integrity of molded articles, films, sheets and fibers during outdoor weathering. It provides effective light stabilization and prevents the yellowing and degradation of polymers such as polycarbonates, unsaturated polyesters, and acrylics. It can be used in combination with antioxidants and HALS to optimize performance in outdoor use. ![]() SONGSORB 7120 PWA substituted benzoate that absorbs ultraviolet radiation. Through a reversible chemical rearrangement, it dissipates the energy as heat. It provides better initial color than benzotriazole UV absorbers, and exhibits a synergistic effect when used in combination with HALS. It can be used in combination with antioxidants and HALS for thermal and light stabilization in outdoor use. This product is recommended for use at levels of 0.2%-1% in polypropylene, polyethylene, TPO, PVC, EVA, unsaturated polyester ABS, and AS.
