Frequently Asked Questions How can I get MSDS information at rtvanderbilt.com? MSDS, and other documents are available online. There are "search boxes" on most screens. The results listing of the search routine will show icons:
How does the search box work? There are a number of different things you can enter into the search box to get the results you need. The search does not need quotes or asterisks to find what you need. RTV Product Code - 00108 - will return information links for ACTIV 8 You could type in just - 108 - but that will return all products with "108" in their RTV Part Number, or in the description. RTV Product Description - VANOX - will return the entire family of VANOX products. CLAY - will return you a list of all our CLAY products. You could type in just - VAN - but that will return all products with "VAN" in their description; probably too broad a search. ASTM Designation - DPTT - (DIPENTAMETHYLENETHIURAM TETRASULFIDE) will return you our list of SULFADS products. You could type in - DIPENTAMETHYLENETHIURAM TETRASULFIDE - and get the same results. Application - ANTIOXIDANT - will return our list of products that may fit your application needs. Spelling counts, but we try to anticipate: How many ways can one spell WOLLASTONITE ? Or is it WALLASTONITE? WOLASTONITE? In any case, we will point you to our VANSIL product line. Whether it is ACTIVATE , ACTIVE-8 , ACTIVE 8 or ACTIV-8 we will still point you to our ACTIV 8 products. Can I access technical articles online? Yes, the resulting screen from your search box inquiry will present you with a list of RTV items that we have that meet your search criteria. If no items are found, or if you wish to search for articles on our website - just click on the page search side of the button on the screen: ![]() This will bring you to a more detailed search of all content on our website. Can I place orders online at rtvanderbilt.com? Yes, if you are a company in the US or Canada and if you have registered with us online. At this stage, companies outside the US/Canada cannot place orders online and, therefore, will not derive any benefit from registration. The registration of domestic companies is simple. We do require that you register before you can place any orders on our system. We associate your company's pricing, packaging and Ship-To location information with your Log In ID. How does online ordering work? From Online Services, you can Log In, or just select Place an Order - which will prompt a Log In. (You will create your User Name and Password upon registering.) You will be presented with a list of Ship-To Locations (or, click Ship-To-Addresses on the right-hand menu to see what we have on file for you). To select the address you are ordering for, click on the Truck Icon: .The next screen prompts you for Purchase Order Number, your Requested Ship Date, and P O Release Number (if necessary). If you have made an error, press the "reset" button, otherwise press the "next" button. You will be presented with a "Quick Pick" list of Items that you have previously ordered for the Ship-To Location chosen. If we have it on file, this list also shows your Product Number alongside our Part Number and Description. (There is a search box on this screen to find other items not on the Quick Pick list.) Once you have clicked on the Item you would like, you are asked to enter the Purchase Quantity. The Quantity can be entered in Pounds, Kilos, Tons and Packages. The system will automatically round out your order to the correct number of packages in the Package Size you have chosen. You can then click on the "Add Another Item" button until your purchase order is completed. A graphic of a truck being loaded appears in the upper right hand side of the screen to provide you with a list of what has already been ordered. Along side the items ordered, you will find the icons linking to the Product Specification Can I check on the status of my order and/or duplicate an order if I wish? Yes. Again, for registered customers, you can view order status as an option under Online Services. You will be presented with a listing of the orders we have on the system for your company. For quicker Order Entry, these orders can be duplicated and made into a new order - all you need to provide are a new Purchase Order Number, and Requested Ship Date. Does "View Order Status" apply to all my orders? Yes. Whether the order was placed online, or through the more conventional phone or fax method, the status of ALL your orders can be reviewed online. How often is the "View Order Status" information updated? We currently refresh the system with the latest information on a 3 hour cycle. Are COAs (Certificates of Analysis) available online? Yes. On a go-forward basis, we are linking a .pdf copy of your COAs to the "View Order Status" information (available to registered customers). From the listing of your company's orders, select the order icon
you wish to review. The detailed summary screen will list all the products on the order. Those products with COAs available will be indicated with a special COA icon , along with the icons for MSDS and Product Specifications . |
