   Process Engineer

R. T. Vanderbilt Company, a Western KY employer, is seeking two Chemical Engineers. The qualifying candidates will provide technical process support to production operations and plant engineering. The position requires good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a technical team or independently.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:

BS degree in Chemical Engineering.

Duties will include:

Monitoring of batch processes.

Investigate process related operational problems and optimization of existing processes.

Identify and implement cost savings projects.

Calculate heat and material balances. Determines ratings for equipment including vessels, exchangers, pumps, etc.

Prepare equipment specifications, PFD’s, heat and material balances, and P&ID’s for new and existing products.

Review existing flow sheets, and recommends best operational strategy to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

Provide process engineering support for projects, unit turnarounds/shutdowns.

Writing new and upgrading existing Manufacturing Procedures and batch records.

Independently conducts technical and economic studies.

Develop and provide technical presentations to management and plant employee training as needed.

On call responsibilities (rotating).
