   Logistics Business Analyst


The R.T. Vanderbilt Company, Inc. is accepting applications for a Logistics Business Analyst position in Norwalk, CT. Reporting to SAP Applications Manager / Chief Technology Officer, the SAP Logistics Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing current SAP Logistics applications, designing and defining business process and system configuration improvements.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Define and coordinate new system requirements for SAP Logistics with business personnel.
  • Provides day-to-day systems support, including management of issues resolutions, incidents, problems, and service requests.
  • Execution of complex configuration changes to support new or changing business processes.
  • Evaluation of new releases and/or support packs within realm of expertise and provide recommendations on whether these changes should be applied to production.
  • Analyze business requirements, working closely with the project management team and business personnel.


  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent experience with superior analytical skills.
  • 3-4 years experience implementing/supporting SAP Logistics modules.
  • Proficient in configuration of at least 2 SAP Logistics modules, preferably SD and MM.
  • Two full life cycle implementations including training of end users and production support.
  • Familiarity with US and International business processes.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and execute complex implementation scenarios.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction as well as part of the overall team.
  • Exposure to companies with multiple divisions or business lines.
  • Ability to think and perform in a global systems setting to link impacts between multiple organizations, business processes and systems implications.
  • Ability to research problems/solutions, identify and locate information from a variety of sources across the enterprise as well as external sources.
  • Strong ability to document business concepts in a way that technical programmers can understand and work with.
  • Responsible for assessing SAP usage and defining / coordinating with external vendors ways to enhance the utilization of SAP and the depth of knowledge of the SAP Module Owners.
  • Responsible for defining operational/usage enhancements so that there is more efficient utilization of the system.
  • Cross functional knowledge of all SAP modules and understands the module interrelationships and potential impacts when reviewing and implementing enhancements and improvements.
  • Directly facilitates improvements as support to the SAP Module Owners Coordinates SAP reporting to define standards for the organization for SAP reports.
  • Training non-technical employees and new employees on the usage of SAP and facilitate learning.
  • Working with Module owners on training needed by the organization on all areas in SAP.
  • Responsible for working with all vendors or other systems that need interfaces from SAP.
