The Plastics Department began in 1946 when R.T. Vanderbilt Company introduced its first vinyl heat stabilizer to the plastics industry. Today our line of vinyl heat stabilizers continues to provide heat stability to PVC products, and includes several FDA-approved products.

From its beginnings in the vinyl industry, the plastics product line has expanded to include a wide range of antioxidants which impart processing stability and good long-term heat aging properties to a variety of plastic products. We service the raw material requirements of the polyurethane, polyethylene, and polypropylene industries.

In addition to our vinyl heat stabilizers and antioxidants, the Plastics Department also offers a complete line of mineral fillers and reinforcing agents, as well as conductive carbon black products to meet the needs of the wire and cable industry.

Our emphasis on new product development enables the Plastics Department of R.T. Vanderbilt Company to be responsive to the ever-changing needs of today’s plastics industry.
