Over the last several years, the personal care product industry has developed a growing interest in offering products labeled "Organic" or "Containing Organic Ingredients". To address this interest, R.T. Vanderbilt Company, Inc. has developed two products for use as rheological modifiers and as formula stabilizers in such labeled products. In the tradition of the VEEGUM^® line of functional clay products, VEEGUM Pure and VANATURAL^® clays provide the quality and consistency customers have long expected, yet are positioned to comply with requirements for raw materials being used in personal care products labeled as "Organic" or "Containing Organic Ingredients".

As part of its interest in "Organic" business, R.T. Vanderbilt Company, Inc. has sought affiliation with groups having similar interests. One of these is the Organic Trade Association (OTA), of which Vanderbilt is a member. The OTA is "...a membership-based business association that focuses on the organic business community in North America. OTA's mission is to promote and protect the growth of organic trade to benefit the environment, farmers, the public and the economy" (OTA website link here).
