Waterborne Chemicals are raw materials that the latex compounder uses to engineer products such as: examination, household, electrical lineman's, and chemical handling gloves. These chemicals can also be used in latex thread for garment applications, condoms, adhesives, carpet backing, and foam for pillows, mattresses, weather-stripping and carpet underlay. Our products can also be used in toy balloons, meteorological balloons and breather bag, as well coatings for textiles and non-wovens.

The Waterborne Chemicals Laboratory is part of the Rubber and Plastics Department. Its responsibilities in order of importance are:
