Customer Service
Vanderbilt customers are continually developing new products. In doing so, they frequently contact us with 'what if' questions. Latex compounding is never a static endeavor. Altering one variable necessarily affects the performance of other variables. The effects are observed in the change of physical properties, original and aged. Frequently, process conditions must be changed to accommodate new raw materials and to achieve an optimum state and rate of cure or vulcanization. With ultimate regard for proprietary information, an exchange of ideas between R.T. Vanderbilt Company, Inc. and its customers is a long-standing tradition. Sales Service A major responsibility of the Waterborne Technologies Laboratory is to support the Vanderbilt Technical Sales Representatives located throughout North America and Canada. Additionally we support the vast network of Representatives and Distribution Partnerships that Vanderbilt has around the world. It is the input of our Rubber and Plastics Sales Department that frequently helps to shape the nature and scope of bench work in the Waterborne Chemicals Laboratory. Product Development As an Applications Laboratory, Waterborne Technologies does not synthesize new molecules nor does it develop new reactions. Instead it focuses on the use of Vanderbilt chemicals in waterborne products. The new products created by this laboratory are often produced to meet an industry need; therefore, the new technologies and products that are developed in our laboratory almost always have an immediate application. Additionally, our new products are tested to insure that they meet our customers required specifications. New ideas become reality on our laboratory benches. Generating Product Information As an applications laboratory, it is important for Waterborne Technologies to inform the customer about the knowledge gained through bench work and field trials of experimental and existing products. The aim of this laboratory is to keep the customer informed through technical data sheets, publications and presentations. Each year Waterborne Technologies publishes multiple papers and gives presentations on our new product developments.
